During my tenure at PT Citra Jelajah Informatika, I gained comprehensive experience in enterprise infrastructure management and network engineering. This role involved designing, implementing, and maintaining complex server and network systems across diverse environments including office buildings, shopping malls, schools, and hotels.

The experience encompassed full-stack infrastructure responsibilities, from DNS and web server management to network monitoring and virtualization, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance across all systems.


Role & Responsibilities

System Administrator (Jun 2023 - Oct 2023)

As a System Administrator, I was responsible for:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining a wide range of server services
  • Ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance
  • Managing monitoring and observability systems
  • Handling hosting control panels for server and account management
  • Managing virtualization environments

Network Engineer (Jun 2021 - Jun 2023)

As a Network Engineer, I focused on:

  • Analyzing, designing, and implementing network infrastructure
  • Working as an Engineer On-Site (EOS) for installation and maintenance
  • Managing wireless and networking devices
  • Operating within a Network Operation Center (NOC) environment
  • Performing continuous network monitoring and performance analysis

Server Infrastructure Management

DNS Services

Managed authoritative DNS services using industry-standard solutions:

  • PowerDNS: High-performance DNS server with advanced features
  • BIND: Traditional DNS server for complex DNS configurations

These services ensured reliable domain name resolution and DNS failover capabilities across the infrastructure.

Web Servers

Deployed and maintained multiple web server solutions:

  • Apache: Full-featured web server with extensive module support
  • Nginx: High-performance reverse proxy and web server for load balancing

Both servers were configured for optimal performance, security, and scalability depending on workload requirements.

Database Services

Managed multiple database systems:

  • MySQL/MariaDB: Relational database management for application data
  • MongoDB: NoSQL database for flexible data storage requirements

Ensured data integrity, backup strategies, and performance optimization for both systems.

Mail Services

Implemented complete mail server stack:

  • Postfix: Mail transfer agent (MTA) for reliable email routing
  • Dovecot: IMAP/POP3 server for mail access
  • Roundcube: Web-based mail client for user access

This combination provided a complete, secure, and user-friendly mail infrastructure.

Hosting Control Panels

  • CentOS Web Panel (CWP): Open-source alternative for server management

These panels streamlined account management, domain configuration, and resource allocation.


Monitoring & Observability

Implemented comprehensive monitoring solutions to ensure infrastructure reliability:

  • Prometheus: Time-series metrics collection and alerting
  • Cacti: Network monitoring and graphing tool

  • Modem registration using GPON OLT ZTE
  • Real-time network issue resolution

Network Monitoring

Performed continuous network monitoring using:

  • The Dude: Network topology visualization and monitoring
  • Zabbix: Enterprise network monitoring
  • Cacti: Network traffic graphing and analysis

These tools ensured network reliability, stability, and optimal performance across all environments.
